Welcome to

Barrie
![]()
We are the local level of Special Olympics Ontario, which is part of a dynamic world-wide, not-for-profit organization, dedicated to promoting a more active and better quality of life for people who are intellectually disabled, through their involvement in sports.
The Barrie Community Special Olympics provides year round athletic programs for over 200 athletes in 10 different sports, locally.
Over 125 volunteers and coaches donate their time and effort. All of the funds raised for the Barrie Community Special Olympics go towards supporting the athletes. There are no paid positions.
We hope to provide information to the athletes, parents, guardians, and caregivers with this website, and to the visitors that are looking for a sport and contact name to help provide a more active life for someone they know.
And if you wish to become a very appreciated volunteer with us, contact our community co-ordinator, Marie, and she can answer any questions you have and get you started, whether it is to help with a sport, our charity Bingo event, or with one of our events in the community.
